Shannon Taylor
Shannon M. Taylor is a Historical Specialist with PR-TY. Her expertise includes archival documentation, photography, historical analysis and research. She also has strong practical skills in 2D and 3D architectural drafting, as well as design.
She joined the PR-TY team as a practicum student in 2019, and has continued to assist the firm after the practicum had been completed. Her first project included compiling a historical inventory of PR-TY’s past projects, available as an interactive timeline on our History page.
Shannon's passion for the history of architecture is demonstrated in her professional experience. She previously assisted with Ottawa's CENTRUS Centre Block Project, as well as worked on 125 Sparks Street (formerly Bank of Nova Scotia). During this time, she provided ongoing project updates to Library of Parliament staff, designed functional building elements, as well as researched and presented lighting, energy conservation and occupant comfort-of-use concepts.
At Carleton University, Shannon collaboratively developed research submission for the Virtual Museum of Architecture in Ottawa (VMAO) regarding 24 Sussex Drive. She received numerous recognition for her academic studies, including multiple scholarships, specifically the Carleton University's Gordon Robertson Scholarship, as well as Dean's List 2018/2019.
She has Revit, BIM, Sketchup and Autocad Drafting skills. She is well versed in Photoshop and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Planner)
In 2020, Shannon Graduated from Carleton University with a Bachelor of Arts: Major in History and Theory of Architecture.
