Brian E. Pye
Brian E. Pye was born and raised in old Ottawa East., he went to Ottawa schools, Carleton College (now Carleton University), then McGill University graduating with a professional degree in architecture in 1953. Returning to Ottawa he joined a large architectural firm, becoming a designer for many buildings mostly elementary and secondary schools for the Ottawa Boards of Education. He joined Earle Ingram in 1964 as Ingram and Pye Architects designing churches, various office buildings, and many schools; Earle retired in 1969 and Brian continued the Practice solely as Brian E. Pye Architect until 1977 when Idwal Richards joined the Firm forming PYE AND RICHARDS ARCHITECTS.
The Firm enjoyed a successful Practice designing many educational, civic, sports and commercial buildings in the greater Ottawa area. The Firm had continued on under the Pye and Richards name since the name partners have retired. Brian retired in 1994 and had enjoyed retired life with his wife, active in the community, and gardening on their half acre lot in South Gloucester.
