Technologist

Duane Siertsema is a Technologist and has worked with PR-TY since 2000 and has over 20 years experience developing detailed drawings for a broad range of building types including commercial, high technology office buildings, automobile dealerships as well as technically complex additions and renovations. He has specialized knowledge in office layouts, office fit-ups, modular construction and kitchen design. He also is responsible with providing Architectural lease area certifications to BOMA standards for a wide variety of commercial clients.

Some of Duane’s more notable projects include Marshes Golf Clubhouse (2006), Ericsson Offices and R&D Centre, Kanata (2014), 5050 Innovation Drive, Kanata (2014), Don Gamble Pool renovations, City of Ottawa (2017), Ciena Office and R&D Centre Kanata (2017), Brookstreet Hotel Addition, Kanata (2018), Ages Road Fit-up for PSPC (2019). He has worked on numerous high tech office buildings in the Kanata Research Park. 

Duane is responsible for leading the project production team. He is responsible for the management and co-ordination of a multi-disciplinary design team in a support role to the Architect in charge.  As project captain he is involved in the early stages of the project, he prepares schedules and ensures that the design concept is maintained and enhanced during the CADD generated construction documentation stage. During the construction stage Duane provides clarification, shop drawing reviews, and updates construction documents to reflect as-built conditions. In his multiple roles, Duane is available to the client’s representative at all times.

He has strong Autocad Drafting skills, and has experience with Sketchup and 3d modelling Software and well as Microsoft Office.

Duane graduated with a Diploma in Architectural Technology from the Fanshawe College in 1996.
